************************************ *** MapView 1.3.20 Release Notes *** ************************************ New Features: Tear-Off Drag-Drop Added the ability to tear off units from a stack during a drag-drop operation. Previously to move 3 units out of a stack of 10 you would first Right-Click -> Split 3 and then grab the new mini-stack of three and drag-drop to a new location. Now you can do this in one step. Press the numeric key that represents the number of units you want to tear off the top (three in this example) and then start a drag-drop operation. Three units will be dragged off to be placed where you want! Hotspots Added a cursor change behavior when hovering over a clickable region of a unit. Additionally, the unit's Caption is displayed in a tooltip. Decreased Memory Usage Computer memory usage for large game files with many map tabs and/or using a large amount of units has been drastically reduced by pushing inactive objects to disk, Map Panning Added a mouse-based map navigation AKA "panning". Hold CTRL while left- clicking on the map to pan the map in various directions. Enhancements: Improved Load Time When starting MapView, the detection and loading of the available game modules runs twice as fast as in previous versions of MapView. Arrow/Unit Dragging Drag-drop operations on Arrows are reflected on the map in real-time. Also, the drag-drop of other units has the same behavior. Install Module The "Install Module" feature now handles both mvm and udm type modules. Auto-View MapText When activating a map tab that has an associated page of Map Text with it, the Map Text window is automatically made visible. Merge-Drop Improved the "Merge Drop" feature where stacks of units dropped on top of each other automatically merge together into a single stack. Previously it was too restrictive, which made merge-dropping small units more difficult. Vista-compatible Install The setup program for MapView should now run on Vista. Bug Fixes: Fixed the Undo/Redo crash that happens if either is invoked while there is no current game. Misc Changes: Updated web links jumped to via some of the Help menu items. The "Open Game" dialog changed to default to currently-used MapView file extensions. Older extensions are still present for backwards-compatibility. Removed the default OK behavior whenever editing a potentially multi-line field. Changed inplementation of arrow anchors to avoid having to define end point images.
